water samples up stream of the Postdam sewage plant?<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">This would determine if the City&#8217;s Potsdam Sewage Plant was responsible for the Blue Green Algae Bloom&#8230;better Nature conservation management could be achieved, by the reduction of high ammonia levels been discharged from from sewage plant.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">What were the chlorine levels been discharged from sewage plant, this would account for death of bacteriaphytoplankton&#8217;s and freshwater plankton that would increase ammonia decaying matter, which triggers and feeds blue green algae.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0Pesticide used to kill blue green algae, would then lead to bacteriaphytoplankton&#8217;s increases, which would turn the lagoon brown.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Excessive chlorine flowing from sewage plant would then kill brown algae and some bacteriaphytoplankton and turn the water muddy brown and stink of ammonia and decaying matter.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Exact visual conditions that occured in Milnerton lagoon, as per videos, photos and witnesses, during the period dated.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Where are the university scientists and students or biology scientists of Cape Nature&#8230;problems could have been identified, lessened and solved.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Loadshedding would of caused man-hole sewage covers to over flow, and increased ammonia and nutrient levels drastically, which would instantaneously cause a blue green algae bloom.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Methane and ammonia toxcidity are extremely bad for the health of residence and biodiversity in the area.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Water samples and live bacteria counts, microscope activity of dead or live bacteriaphytoplankton, are important when trying to protect humans and the biodiversity of the area.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Dead bacteriaphytoplankton would show Nature conservation that a problem was occuring and they would have found the source of high levels of chlorine being the cause of the dead aquatic organisms.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Will Cape Town and Cape Nature learn from this event or have they conducted easy scientific research and testing of bacteria and water samples, to identify what the Blue Green Algae Bloom was triggered and why the water had a muddy brown colour, giving off methane and ammonia.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Did the do air aquality tests on the methane and ammonia levels.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Pointing fingers dose not help, unless lessons are learnt that protect residents and the biodiversity of the area.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">Methane and ammonia are extremely bad, and will aid climate change and global warming.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">What solutions are currently being implemented by the City of Cape Town, based on scientific analysis of water quality.<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">The City of Cape Town, states informal settlements up stream of Potsdam Sewage Plant have caused the blue green algae blooms( Did City test water quality upstream).<\/div><div dir=\"auto\">City blames residents for blocking storm and sewage system piping.<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0 Milnerton lagoon Pollution Crisis ( link ) \u00a0High amonia samples detected by &#8220;Green Scorpions&#8221;
